An open letter to people running the new 5 man
December 10, 2009 § 4 Comments
Dear random PuGers;
First, I think you should remember not everyone spent the last 6 weeks on the PTR running these dungeons. And it’s only been two days since their release. So there are going to be a few people that haven’t run the new 5 mans yet. I know, shocking right? I mean, you’ve clearly spent the past 48 hours doing nothing but running these instances, and now you’re pro at them, why hasn’t everyone else done the same thing? Well, because we all have lives, jobs, significant others, pets, and other things to occupy our time. So please, have a little patience with people.
That being said, I have a request for those of you who haven’t done this yet. Before you queue up to do these dungeons through the new LFG system and get magically whisked away to the instance, please take a few moments and familiarize yourself with Icecrown Citadel. Specifically make sure you know how to actually get into the instances. Why? Well, because you might die inside the instance and may need to run back. And I promise your group does not want to spend 20 minutes waiting while you fly around on your dead gryphon trying to find the entrance.
Thanks,
~Fizz
Ouch. I haven’t done any of the new 5 mans, I haven’t had any time for it. Hopefully I may pug one this weekend, but what you write makes me a scared gnome…
Oh well don’t let me scare you off. The first two of the new 5 mans are pretty easy anyhow (wow that sentence got away from me).
I really like the new 5 mans, and the pug system has made me realize how lucky I am to be in a guild with good people.
I avoided puggin before this patch and its been a nice change from raiding, some have been really fun pugs, others have been like some reality tv show show called “How much of an ass can you be?”
I did this the first time I got whisked into one of the new random dungeons – I died in there (TANK’S FAULT!, naturally) , there was nobody to rez and I had to run back … and I realised I didn’t have a clue where the entrance portal was. I was so mortified.
